A Beer Delivery Without a Driver

11.04.16 - Budweiser

Technological advancements and new discoveries are part of what has made this country great for many decades as well as over the past few centuries. What would it be like if early explorers didn’t pave the Oregon Trail or head north and south to find out what was on the other side of a mountain or river? Could our country have stopped at the Mississippi River, would we have had only the original thirteen colonies? It’s hard to say, but the discovery of new areas of the country spurned the advancement of new technologies and discoveries of what we can use to make our lives easier.

California Continues to be the Technologically Progressive State

10.15.16 - California Flag

Nearly every state allows the testing of some autonomous vehicles on their road provided these vehicles are equipped with human controls that can easily take over when the car begins to perform in a manner that’s not in accordance with the laws and rules of the road. This allows companies to collect data and know how often the human driver has to take over, but if the vision of most companies for autonomous driving is to offer vehicles that don’t need human controls to allow for the corrections needed, they have to be able to test their vehicles without human drivers.

Power Swapping for Excitement

09.27.16 - Car Engine

So many times those of us who spend time around a track or competitions will utter the words “I wish I could put that engine in here.” Gearheads everywhere have thought of what it would be like to have a massive power plant under the hood of a much smaller and lighter model and some have even accomplished the feat. Engine swapping isn’t the easiest thing to do and sometimes it can cause trouble, but when it works the result is simply amazing. Here are some of the most impressive engine swaps ever performed:

Will We Ever See the Rotary Engine Again?

08.22.16 - Wankel Rotary Engine

The Wankel Rotary Engine was and still is an engine that is designed to offer maximum power and performance but it does have several drawbacks. Mazda has tried for several years to offer us the rotary engine as a power plant for their RX series vehicles that are some of the most impressive sports cars that we’ve ever seen. Because of the power that can be pushed from these smaller engines we tend to love them at first, but once we experience any of the drawbacks the engines present, the romance is pretty much gone. Here are some reasons this engine might not be used ever again.

Turning Traffic Tickets into a Humanitarian Effort

07.16.16 - DoNotPay

Many times the most significant agencies that can help people who have been victimized by others are born from some of the simplest ideas and the desire to right what appears to be a wrong. Wouldn’t it be great to have a computerized system that can help us learn what our rights are regarding the simple issue of flight delay compensation but also be able to tackle more complex issues such as the rights of those who are HIV-positive and refugees who flee to a foreign land and need to understand the legal system of that country?

Car Features We Won’t See on the Market Soon

07.08.16 - In-Car CD Player

Over many years the vehicles we drive have changed and developed to offer us the features that we want to have while those that have been passed by have been left behind. Just one example of this is in the audio system we see in our vehicles. Some of us can remember when cars only came with AM radios, others remember AM/FM, and still more will remember 8-Track and cassette tape decks in the audio system of our vehicles. Many younger drivers will not know anything about these features, but they may see another item about to be replaced along with a few more.

2016 Chevrolet SS: The End of an Era

03.27.16 - 2016 Chevrolet SS

We have known for some time now that the SS would not be made after the 2016 model year as Chevrolet has pulled the plug on the Australian company Holden. That’s really too bad because this is one car that more of us should have bought and enjoyed driving but because it didn’t fit a specific mold it hasn’t been a vehicle that garnered a great deal of popularity over the years. With awesome power and the bones of the Holden Commodore this awesome car will bid us farewell at the end of this year as the performance sedan that is built to be awesome for the entire family.
