You can only imagine how quickly a car won’t get an approval from most mothers. Unless you have a mother who is a gear head that loves the smell of fumes and wants to see just how much power and torque she can get from her latest sports car, not likely, you will only get her approval if the car is sufficiently safe with record for keeping everyone aboard from getting hurt. Sorry mothers, there is just too much horsepower and fun for us to have on the market today and while some of the European exotics would make obvious choices as cars you don’t want us to drive, here are some that might have slipped past your view but still don’t get your approval.

There have been many of these cases over the years in the automotive world for us to see and enjoy as some vehicles that have either been a great way to make a vehicle or have let us down in some form. A Look in Review at Scion
With the recent announcement that Scion will no longer be its own brand after August of this year it seems fitting to take a look at what this brand has meant to us over the past thirteen years. Yes, Toyota has only allowed Scion to be around for thirteen years, but when the overall sales penetration for the entire brand is only 2.2 percent of the Toyota sales this brand has had its day in the sun and the remaining lineup will be absorbed into the Toyota lineup to add more fun and youthful style to the parent brand. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some highs and lows of Scion over the years.
The C8 Corvette Will Honor Possibly its Biggest Champion
While the Corvette has been a racing machine for many years and has symbolized the icon of power, engineering, aerodynamics and precision for generations, the name that will adorn the C8 model will not honor a driver but rather the man who was responsible for much of the development of the Corvette for most of its first few generations. This name will be the ZoRa1 which will be in honor of Zora Arkus-Duntov and his contributions to this amazing racing machine over the years.

What to Consider When Porsche Shopping
Most of us don’t have the kind of cash a new Porsche 911 calls for nor do we have the ability to buy a 991 that, even though it’s a used model, will still call for a large sum of cash. You could look to the old 997 model and still have to part ways with over $30,000 and some of the older 911 models that are basically junked out will cost you more than $34,000 just to tow them away. This makes shopping for a great Porsche nearly an impossibility for those of us just looking for a fun sports car for the weekends at a great price, unless of course you consider the 996.
2016 Dodge Charger has Four Doors and Lots of Power
When you have to go shopping for a sedan and ditch the powerful sports car you have loved for a long time there is a certain pain in your heart that seems to coincide with this occasion. Yes, it’s a sign of growing up and maturing to join the rest of the workforce as they drive along the commuter roads of the country to be part of the grown up world, but shouldn’t you be able to enjoy a sedan with lots of power that still gives you the fun of driving that you want to feel, especially when you are out on your own?

Another Special Edition
One of the most fun parts of looking at a special edition of any car is to learn what changes are being made in order to allow a car to be offered in the limited quantity expected and create a buzz about the car. When that special edition comes from a brand such as Ferrari the attention given is much more than many others would be and certainly the changes that Ferrari makes on a car can be much more aggressive than some others that might just add rebadging and color differences for their special edition vehicles.
Are we Witnessing Another Tesla Killer
The entire automotive industry seems to have it out for Elon Musk and his team at Tesla Motors. Whether it’s because they blatantly ignored tradition in every way or because they showed up the rest of the world with their luxury performance cars that are powered only by the batter cells in the floorboard is hard to say, but the fact is many automakers have bulls-eyes on Tesla and are more than happy to produce what we would call a Tesla killer, especially if it offers a longer range than the Tesla models. With word of what Aston Martin is working on I wonder if they have the next Tesla killer coming.
