Toyota Tundra: Power and Performance

When it comes to longevity in the half-ton truck market, very few vehicles match the Toyota Tundra. This impressive truck has a lot to offer.

Whether you’re looking for the most reliable truck to drive or you want to enjoy the benefits of good towing and an advanced truck, the Tundra fits the bill. This is the only full-size truck offered without a V8 engine in 2024. Toyota has made the move away from V8s, starting with the Tundra.

Let’s dig in and see what the 2024 Toyota Tundra has for your driving experience.

Power delivered three ways

Most Tundras utilize the base powertrain, but at the higher power level. This gives you a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine attached to a 10-speed automatic transmission. This base powertrain delivers 348 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. This same powertrain is upgraded in higher trims to deliver 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

The most powerful setup gives you the i-Force Max hybrid powertrain, which uses the same V6 engine but adds the benefits of a hybrid system. This setup increases power to 437 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque.

The Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds, which is less than the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado max towing figures.

What does each trim include?

The Toyota Tundra brings a complete truck lineup to the market, providing you with some excellent choices for driving quality and comfort. Here’s what each trim offers:

Tundra SR

The base Tundra SR uses the lowest power setting and gives you:

Moving up one step in the Tundra lineup brings the more powerful non-hybrid engine and:

Tundra Limited

Move up to the Toyota Tundra Limited model, and you’ll enjoy:

Tundra Platinum

When you want more luxury and quality features, the Platinum version gives you:

Tundra 1794 Edition

Going further up the trims, the Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition provides:

Tundra TRD Pro

The most off-road version of the Tundra is the TRD Pro. This is the first trim that only comes with the i-Force Max Hybrid powertrain. It also gives you:

Tundra favorite features

Power running boards with Power BedStep

This feature retracts the side running boards, giving owners easier access to stepping up into the cabin. With this item, it doesn’t matter how short or tall a person is; they can get inside the cab with ease. The BedStep feature extends from under the rear bumper to make it easy to step up to reach items in the bed.

Multi-Terrain Monitor

Some trims have this item available, and the TRD Pro offers it as a standard feature. This system uses the surround-view camera for some off-roading, making it easy to handle the tough terrain you could find while out in the wilderness. You won’t need a spotter when you have this feature.

Toyota Safety Sense

This is the package of safety and driver-assistance features that make it possible for this truck to keep you out of trouble. This package includes:
