Mercedes-Benz has been focused on its overseas cars lately – they’ve worked with Maybach

But now, America is getting a taste of what Mercedes has been making with the introduction of
the 2023 Mercedes-AMG SL 43 four-cylinder convertible to the American market. There’s even

The Differences Between the SL 43, 55, and 63
This isn’t the first SL Mercedes-Benz has made by any means, but it’s unique in that it’s the
smallest to date.
With a smaller body, an engine half the size of the 55 – 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder
engine – a simpler optional AMG Ride Control suspension than the 63, and operating as an
RWD-only vehicle, there’s a lot that sets the SL 43 apart.
The only thing that stays the same? Mercedes and AMG’s power and capability standards.
With the help of AMG’s electric exhaust gas turbocharger and multi-clutch nine-speed
transmission, the 43 gets 375 horsepower and can go from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. It also has
an amazing top speed of 170 miles per hour.
That’s under 100 horsepower and only one second slower than the V8-powered SL 55 – with
half the engine size.
And what makes it even better is the pricing and availability.
Smaller Car, Smaller Price, Bigger Supply
Mercedes-Benz saved money on production and wants to extend the savings to drivers by
offering the SL 43 at the lowest price yet. It’s set to sell in the United States for $109,000 – about
$30,000 less than the SL 55.
With anticipation for the new market, production savings, and general newness taken into
account, there’s likely to be a lot more models available when we start seeing the SL 43 at
American dealers.
This means there won’t be anything to worry about if you don’t snatch up the first few Mercedes-
AMG SL 43s to hit the market.

The Mercedes-AMG Press Release Tells the Timing
According to a press release earlier this week, Mercedes-Benz will release the AMG SL 43
through U.S. dealerships starting in the summer of 2023 – less than a month away.
And in just one month, there could be even more improvements!

advancing goal for the brand. The manufacturer is likely already looking for new ways to
improve the 43, which will lead to new trims and models in the near future.
