It might not be very long from now when we don’t see any sedans wearing the bowtie emblem of Chevrolet, making the Malibu the last of a dying breed.
With that in mind, if you’re looking for a midsize sedan that offers impressive styling, excellent features, a cabin with plenty of room, and the smooth drive you associate with this car, you’ll still find it for the 2022 model year.
When you want to take a different approach to driving than what the rest of the world seems to be doing, this sedan can be the ideal car for you instead of a compact SUV.
Choose the Driving Personality You’re Looking for
You’ll find that the Malibu offers you a couple of different ways to handle the drive. With a pair of engines and transmissions that give you power in different ways, you might want to take this sedan out for a test drive to see which one is right for you. Regardless of the powertrain, this Chevy has the steering, braking, suspension, and feel you’ll want when you take it out for a drive. Step inside and enjoy the quiet comfort brought to you by the Malibu.
Why Should You Choose this Sedan?
There are other midsize sedans in the market; there are tons of small SUVs; why should you select the Chevrolet Malibu when you want a new car? The Malibu gives you a roomy cabin with plenty of space for five people to have a fantastic ride. You’ll find a user-friendly infotainment system that’s straightforward and easy to navigate. Chevy includes wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for your connectivity, and the Malibu has a large trunk to ensure you have plenty of space to carry stuff you need to take with you.
A Great Place to Enjoy the Drive
Open the door to the cabin area of the Malibu, and you’re going to see a place that is ideal for you to have a quiet, composed, and comfortable ride on the road. There are plenty of soft-touch materials that make this car look and feel a little more upscale than you might expect. Look around at how this cabin area is designed, and you’ll see that it’s styled right to give you the environment you’ll want to enjoy during your time out on the road. In the rear, you’ll find a trunk that measures 15.7 cubic feet, which is more than enough space for the luggage you need for a road trip.
The Chevrolet Malibu is an Attractive Car
There’s no denying the good looks and attractive nature of this midsize sedan. You’ll see a bold double grille area at the front, amazingly sharp headlights, and sides that give this car the sportiness you admire. If you want to add more to the appeal of this sedan, the RS version adds black grille treatments, a black rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a dual exhaust system.
The Driving Experience is Incredible
It’s not often that you think of a sedan as having an incredible driving experience, but the Malibu does. This car includes wireless smartphone connectivity, which means you can leave those charging cords at home and stay connected to the infotainment system.
The suspension is a multi-link rear setup that is perfect for making this car comfortable while giving you the grip you need in the turns. With these featured offered in the Malibu, your driving experience is complete and sure to be a pleasure when you take this car out on the road.

If you select the LS, RS, or LT trim levels, you’ll have a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a CVT. This powertrain gives you 160 horsepower, 184 lb.-ft. Of torque, and 29 city/36 hwy mpg.
The Premier trim is where you find a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is attached to a nine-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain delivers 250 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. Of torque.
The fuel mileage at this trim level is 22 city/33 hwy mpg.
Neither powertrain gives you the option of AWD.
Are You Ready to Drive Something Different?
You might not think of driving a Chevrolet Malibu as different, but it is in the current automotive market. Right now, the sedans we see are offered by foreign brands and not domestic models (save the Dodge Charger, which is more of a muscle car than a commuter sedan), and we see more SUVs being driven than any other class of vehicle.
When you want to experience the drive of a good old-fashioned American sedan, the Malibu is the car for you.
Let the team at your local Chevy dealer take you for a test drive so that you can see what this car has to offer.
You’ll be pleased with the style, the dive, the equipment, and the feeling you get from behind the wheel of the Malibu.
