Every vehicle has to take its turn at being upgraded and the 2022 model year signifies the turn of the Mercedes-Benz CLS.
This impressive four-door coupe is being improved to put it in line with the E-Class which is a midsize luxury sedan. We will see the new CLS-Class vehicles offered in the fall to give you something great to drive during the holiday season later this year.
Subtlety is the Name of the Game
Because of the already elegant and sophisticated style of many vehicles in the Mercedes-Benz family, the upgrades to the CLS exterior are subtle. The rear and flanks remain the same, but you do see some changes to the front. A new grille insert is offered to give you a tiny logo and a new bumper design is offered to give you the upgrades you’ll see. There are also new wheel designs for the CLS but that does it for the styling upgrades.
A Few Differences Inside the Mercedes-Benz CLS
Move into the cabin area and you’ll find a new steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather. We also see a new set of paddle shifters made of chrome and wheel spokes that are also chrome. Check out the new wood trim and two-tone leather that are also part of the list of upgrades to the interior of this impressive car.
You can stick with the standard offers, which are pretty posh, or you can select a few items that are on a specialized list. You can have red or green lacquers applied to the cabin area and see a two-tone Nappa leather covering for the seats. These upgrades could give you a CLS that has a unique look that you’re sure to enjoy when you take it out for a drive.
More Tech for Your CLS
We still see the twin-12.3-inch screens for this car that make use of the MBUX infotainment system. A new gesture control feature has been added that can learn from you and figure out what you want it to do. The safety package still has Active Brake Assist as a standard item but now has the benefits of the Intelligent Drive Package. This package brings you adaptive speed limit assist, stop-and-go, assist, and automatic parking assist.
