The new 2019 Audi e-tron is a vehicle that shows that the question of luxury electric driving has an answer and it’s the right one.
We don’t expect a team such as Audi to get any vehicles wrong, but the puzzle of the right way to offer an electric SUV has been a mystery that hasn’t been solved until now. With two rows of seats and 57 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seats are folded down this electric SUV is one that’s extremely easy to enjoy and live with when you want to drive electric.
Standard is Always Better with Audi
Even though the new Audi e-tron offers only two trims and the base model is at the lowest level, it’s still an Audi. Called the Premium Plus trim, the base model of the e-tron gives you leather upholstery, power heated and ventilated front seats, an air suspension, a power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, a quad-zone automatic climate control system, 20-inch wheels, and LED taillights. The infotainment system of the e-tron includes navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. There’s also a top-view camera and a Bang & Olufsen 3D audio system that gives you more of what you want.
Keep Moving Up the Trims
The top trim level of the Audi e-tron is the Prestige model. This trim gives you the Driver Assistance Package, which is optional for the Premium Plus trim. This package includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Other items found in the Prestige model include a head-up display, massaging front seats, an air-quality ionizer, upgraded leather upholstery, and power door closers. You can opt for a tow package with either trim and have the ability to pull as much as 4,000 pounds behind this electric SUV.
The Powertrain of this Audi
While we don’t have a North American test of the new Audi e-tron, we do know what this SUV has for power and the range offered on the European cycle. The power comes from a pair of synchronous motors and a 95-kWh battery pack. The power comes to nearly 400 horsepower and 414 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive, you want to experience. The European cycle shows this SUV offers a range of 258 miles of driving on a single charge, but the North American cycle will have a lowered range result. Recharging can be done quickly in order to keep you driving in your new e-tron.
An Interesting Audi to Drive
If you’re looking for an SUV that has the electric power to be useful on a daily basis, the new 2019 Audi e-tron is the right choice for you. Take a drive and see the team at your nearby Audi dealership and let this become the SUV that you’ll be ready to drive and enjoy when you head out for a drive every day.
