I must admit OnStar and Wifi-ready vehicles are appealing, but many of us are unable to have this type of functionality simply because our vehicle is older.
If you’re like me and have an older car sitting around that reminds you of a time when land lines were still the main mode of communication, then there may be a way to update. Verizon announced today a service called HUM.

This new gadget will allow your vehicle to be internet connected. The service provides customers with vehicle performance information (it even claims to give you an estimated cost if it detects a malfunction) as well as keeping you connected in case something goes awry. But, don’t think it will come for free. The subscription for the service will cost about $15 a month to both Verizon and non-Verizon customers alike. May be something to consider for my teen driver.
