Chevrolet Corvette – The Wait Continues, but We have a Better Look

It seems the time has come for the new mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette to shed its padded camo and give us the full look.

No matter which vehicle is being built and created, the need to remove the puffy camouflage from the vehicle to allow it to test and drive without anything that’s more than a skin-tight covering is part of the testing process.  This is simply one of the dates we’ve been waiting for in order to give us more of what we want to enjoy.

New Photos Have Emerged

When you search for the new C8 Corvette or look for the mid-engine Corvette, you’re now going to see more photos than ever before. With the original camo removed you’re going to see a much better look than before and notice that the new Corvette makes you think of several things from the past. This new look offers us what we think of when we imagine some of the European sports cars, but there’s also something uniquely American about the way this new Corvette looks.

Describing the New Look of the Chevrolet Corvette

With the body-hiding cladding removed and only the skin-tight black and white sticker camo in place, the new C8 Corvette is one that looks great and makes us think of some of the cars of the past. The third generation of the Corvette has the high haunches that we see in the photos, and the new grill certainly looks a lot like the one on the current ZR1 version of the Corvette. These new photos make it easy for us to admire what this car will be and how it will continue to grab our imagination.

Not Quite as Extreme

Hopefully, you didn’t expect the new production version of the C8 Corvette to look like the new C8.R which is meant to head to the track for those race teams that love to make use of the Corvette for their track performance. This new model is certainly less extreme and more of what can be enjoyed when you want a sports car you can take out on a regular basis. Of course, the shorter hood and larger rear make this new Corvette look a lot different than the previous models that had the engine in the front.

When Will the C8 Chevrolet Corvette Arrive?

While nothing has been verified by Chevrolet, the rumor mill has this new production version of the C8 starting to come off the line in about a year. This means we’re going to spend the next year talking even more about this car, especially when it finally crosses the stage to give us the appearance and details of what this car will eventually be when we want to enjoy it on the road or at the track. Stay tuned to learn more as we hear more from Chevrolet about the first-ever mid-engine Corvette.
