A Massive Trend in the Automotive Market

It wasn’t too long ago that electric cars were only offered as underpowered and tiny vehicles that required a massive amount of compromise on your part in order to drive a vehicle that could be plugged in.
Once Tesla arrived on the scene and EV models began to develop into powerful and sexy models we’ve seen other brands build EVs and begin to see the light of offering these models as ones everyone would want to drive. With that in mind, here are several vehicles that we hope will eventually become EVs for the drive we want to enjoy:

Porsche Boxster

The Porsche brand is looking at the EV market and working toward making something to follow up the 918 Spyder hybrid hypercar. If they want to offer us a relatively affordable sports car with an EV powertrain, the Boxster could be the right choice. The company is working on a new 800-volt technology and the ability to recharge in a short period of time that we hope will come to fruition.

Chrysler Pacifica

This should be a no-brainer as the Pacifica is already offered as a hybrid and could easily be an EV that has what we need. Imagine an EV minivan with a range of 200 miles that would make it easy for you to have the drive you want on a daily basis and make sure you can experience the family hauling you’re going to experience. This might be the perfect family ride for you.

Jeep Wrangler

As the iconic model we love to take out on the trails, there might be a plug-in version of this Jeep offered as early as 2020 to make sure we can have the range we need and the ability to head out on the trails. The concern seems to be the size and space the battery would take up, but there have already been some people who have made electric models of the old JK Wrangler, which makes this a likely choice.

Lamborghini Aventador

It’s not a stretch to consider a Lamborghini model with EV power. We’ve seen the Porsche 918 Spyder and making similar adjustments to allow the Aventador to show off with the power and the drive of an EV can make perfect sense. This may be something we see in the near future considering Lamborghini and Porsche are both part of the VW Group and the company is working toward EV technology of the future.

Chevrolet Corvette

This car might be a bit of a departure from what you expect from the Corvette, but with the Bolt on the market already, Chevrolet would simply need to figure out how to make a high-performance version of the EV powertrain they already offer for our driving pleasure. With more hypercars bringing in the EV powertrains and showing off impressive power and speed numbers, the Corvette could join the club.

GMC Sierra Denali

Certainly, pickup trucks could benefit from EV power and the drive. Because we don’t often worry too much about the weight of these vehicles, and there’s a ton of space under the hood, a powerful EV truck makes sense. Imagine the power of a truck that has all its torque ready for towing the big trailer you need to take with you. The GMC Sierra could be a serious truck that has the ability to keep you away from the gas pumps.

Ford Expedition

This large and impressive SUV would carry a similar reasoning as the GMC truck when it comes to why you would want to have it with an EV powertrain. The right battery pack could provide plenty of range and the massive power of an EV will make it possible for you to haul the boat and have fun wherever you decide to go with your family when you drive this big brute.

Mazda Miata

The Miata is small, active and fun on the road and this little sports car might weight more with an EV powertrain, but if the battery pack was put in the floor, all the added weight would be low to the ground and easy for you to make use of. The instant torque would make the drive even more fun and exciting for you when you take this little roadster out for the driving fun you want to have on the road.
