2017 Ford C-Max: Drive Longer With Less Fuel

Automakers are challenging each other every year to build the model that will give us as consumers the drive we want with a gas-electric hybrid powertrain or a plug-in hybrid. In either case, the C-Max from Ford makes a great choice for you to have the drive you want and enjoy the ride wherever you need to go. This compact car is the one that can give you the ride you’ve been searching for and make it easy for you to have the fuel efficiency you want to enjoy on the road.

There’s no getting around the crowd this car is meant for; it’s build for those of you who live and work in the city and want to have a car that can do most of your daily driving without ever needing to be filled up with gasoline. You can charge this car each night and have the ride you want to enjoy. The C-Max is a small car that offers an attractive design and the fun you want from behind the wheel, giving you the ride you’ll experience as one that is much more delightful than you might expect from a car like this.

The C-Max has been around for a few years now and for 2017 it brings you some changes. The SEL, top trim is being replaced by the Titanium. This new trim gives you a power adjustable passenger seat, a Sony premium audio system, Blind spot monitoring as an option while a rearview camera is added to the standard equipment. The Sync3 system has been upgraded to give you the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for your driving pleasure and connectivity. You’ll love the way the C-Max has improved and the number of additional features you get to enjoy.

The power for the C-Max, regardless of model, is the same. This car makes use of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s mated to an electric motor to give you 188 horsepower and 129 lb.-ft. of torque. This power is attached to a CVT automatic transmission and is able to give you impressive fuel mileage. The C-Max will drive for 19 miles on electric power only in the Energi model, but the Hybrid model works without being plugged in. You’ll be able to enjoy 41 city/36 hwy mpg in the hybrid models and 38 mpg combined in the Energi which also has 88 MPGe when only using electricity.

For the SE model, which is the base trim, the C-Max offers you dual zone climate controls, a rearview camera, a ten-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a six-speaker audio system with a USB port, an auxiliary port, the Sync system with a 4.2-inch display screen and Bluetooth connectivity. Upgrade to the Titanium and enjoy the power passenger seat, the Sync3 system, an eight-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, a nine-speaker premium Sony audio system, a reverse sensing system, an auto dimming rearview mirror, push button starting and a universal garage door opener.

As you look at the options on this car you will see there is a Driver Assist Package which adds a power liftgate, the Sync3 system and a reverse sensing system for the SE model. Adding the same system to the Titanium model will add blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alerts, Active Park Assist, and the hands free tailgate. Other items you can add include a navigation system and a panoramic moonroof. This is a car that you can enjoy driving on any road and know you have an extremely efficient model to get you where you need to go.

The hands free liftgate is obviously one of the most impressive items on this but the Smartgauge with Ecoguide that shows you a growing bunch of leaves will help you know how efficient you’re driving and encourage you to do even better. This is a great car for those of you who spend more time in the city but want to have your own ride instead of relying on public transportation. The C-Max will allow you to enjoy the drive for many years and it won’t cost you much in gas costs to keep on enjoying this cool little hybrid hatchback.
