The upgraded engine for the Patriot is the 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder model that brings you 172 horsepower and 165 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is able to be used with three different transmissions and does give you the ability to enjoy 4WD. You can also tow up to 2,000 pounds with this bigger power plant. Using the five-speed manual you will enjoy 23 city/28 hwy mpg in FWD or 22 city/27 hwy mpg in 4WD, with the six-speed automatic you can enjoy 21 city/27 hwy mpg in FWD or 20 city/25 hwy mpg in 4WD. The CVT will allow you to have 4WD and have a fuel mileage of 20 city/23 hwy mpg.
When you see the pricing structure for the Patriot, naturally you want to know what you can have at these different prices. The standard features for the Patriot include you having to roll the windows down, manually lock your doors and have no air conditioning. You do get to enjoy the benefit of cruise control, a four-speaker audio system with an auxiliary input, SiriusXM satellite radio and hand’s free connectivity. Moving to the Latitude model you will have the power windows and locks along with air conditioning as well as heated front seats, a power outlet, keyless entry and automatic headlights.
The Jeep Patriot gets even better with the options you can add to the mix.
