The 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCab is Still One Tough Truck

The slogan has been for many years that the Ford trucks are “built Ford tough” and with a steel construction and the fact the Fords were taking on the road and the worksites and performing perfectly there was never any doubt about the toughness of these trucks.  The new models of the Ford trucks have changed from the steel construction to aluminum which begged the question of whether or not these new trucks would be just as Ford tough as the older ones that were built out of the most trusted tough metal ever used.

So far as what we have seen so far the Ford trucks still stand up to the toughness test and with the new constructions are lighter than previous models, making them much more efficient for fuel than the previous versions.  The new Lariat SuperCab offers four-wheel drive and the new 2.7-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine.  What is amazing is the fact a V6 can handle the job of being strong enough and tough enough to get everything done that is needed and be a SuperCab model that offers space for a few more in the rear seat.

This great little engine actually produces 325 horsepower and 375 lb.-ft. of torque and is built from an iron upper block along with an aluminum lower block.  This lower block saves a lot of weight but still allows the truck to be powerful enough to handle the load put on it.  This amazing engine even has the ability to tow up to 8,500 pounds and haul 2,250 pounds in the bed to stand up the any test a work crew can put it through.  The amazing weight of this truck comes in at only 4,935 pounds, much lighter than just about every other truck and the engine is attached to the six-speed automatic transmission which is standard across the board for the F1-150.

The Lariat SuperCab can be equipped with some great features to be one of the most amazing trucks on the road.  In addition to the four-wheel drive and the towing package, this truck offers remote starting, a tailgate release, blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, tow 400W power outlets, power folding mirrors, mirror mounted LED spotlights and a fantastic infotainment system to make this a truck that is great to drive and enjoy on or off any road.  The only thing missing from the F-150 that the Silverado and Ram both have is a Wi-Fi hotspot, which could come in useful and is expected to be on the F-150 lineup soon.

The Ford F-150 has been a fantastic truck for many years and now with the aluminum construction has found a way to be lighter, more efficient and just as strong and tough as every .  Making use of the turbocharging that can be had on a variety of engines allows even truck engines to remove a couple cylinders to be more efficient and just as effective.  If you are in the market for a new truck the F-150 Lariat SuperCab certainly makes a great choice for both jobsite work and weekend warrior duties.
